Tarot is an ancient practice/tool used to supplement spiritual guidance and enables the person receiving the reading to connect to his/hers inner wisdom. Information received during a Tarot reading helps the client to understand what she or he needs to know about a particular situation. Contrary to popular belief, the cards do not tell your fortune, and one does not have to be a psychic to give Tarot readings. The cards are meant to provide insight into the innermost truths of your higher self. In other words, the cards provide an evolved awareness or confirmation of what you already know deep within to help you make clearer decisions for more positive outcomes. Tarot is just another channel to come into contact with one's Higher Self.
Using a Tarot deck of 78 cards, the reading relies on the symbolism of: 22 Majorarcana (meaning "secrets or mysteries") cards that represent the overall themes in our lives.
Ex. Strength, Justice & The High Priestess
and
56 Minor(suit cards "similarly to playing cards: Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, Clubs") arcana cards that represents more of a connection to our everyday lives. Ex. Ace of Swords (Intellect), 6 of Cups (Emotions), Ten of Pentacles/Coins (Prosperity)
Oracle Cards are the milder and younger cousins of the Tarot family. They provide clarity and insight on what to internally work on to assistance you in achieving the goals set forth for yourself.
Overall, Tarot & Oracle Cards are NOT tools for fortune telling, they are tools for the "Reading of Energy."
